Road Improvement Project Update – June 7th, 2019
The Osceola County Engineer’s Office would like to provide the following update regarding the current schedule of local road construction:
- 2019 Seal Coat Surfacing Project Update – Starting June 10th, the Seal Coat Surfacing Project will commence and run concurrently for two to three weeks (weather dependent). The first phase of the project will take place on the east half of the County (east of US Highway 59) and should be completed in less than one week.
The second phase will take place on the west half of the County (west of US Highway 59) and should take a little more than a week to complete.

- 2019 HMA Resurfacing Project Update – Starting June 17th, the Hot Mix Asphalt Resurfacing Project will commence beginning with milling operations. Tentatively, work progression will likely start with the following roads: County Road L50 (Sorrel Ave) between 270th St and 250th St (Melvin area); County Road M12 (Vine Ave) between 250th St and 220th St (May City area); and County Road L58 (Tyler Ave) between 250th St and 170th St (south of Ocheyedan).
Paving operations will follow milling operations within a few days to a week. A north-south detour route on County Road M18 will be established when work on County Road L58 commences.
Weather dependent, a duration of 10 to 12 weeks is anticipated for the total project. The above schedule is subject to change.
